Conversations intercepted by the FBI showed associates of alleged internet pirate Kim Dotcom were worried that he would run off with the firm’s money if they got into trouble.
Their fears were made public, as the German millionaire was denied bail in the North Shore District Court yesterday. He was remanded in custody until February 22 for an extradition hearing.
His lawyer says Dotcom, who has diabetes, a slipped disc and hypertension, will appeal the decision.
Before we use wait for torrentz to download our favorite tv shows, movies, music, softwares, e-books, etc. with no effort. But with this laws such as ACTA, SOPA, PIPA, and others will limit or try to eradicate this stuffs.
Well we all know that downloading such things are illegal, BUT the people have the right for the information they need. What is the difference between downloading them from buying them?

A lot of digital ink has been spilled about Twitter’s announcement that it can now censor tweets on a country-by-country basis. The move has prompted a growing number of users to organize under the hashtag #TwitterBlackout and pledge to boycott the service on January 28 by refusing to tweet. The countries signed the treaty, which aims to harmonise copyright enforcement across much of the world, in Tokyo on Thursday. However, the signatures of the EU member states and the EU itself will count for nothing unless the European Parliament gives its approval to ACTA in June, and digital activists have urged citizens to lobby their MEPs against voting yes.

Only five EU countries did not sign ACTA, which aims to harmonise copyright enforcement.
